Lessen the Loads is a women-owned and operated laundry and organizational service. In a nutshell: moms who help other moms live a life without laundry and a life without cluttered chaos. This team of local moms provides in- and out-of-home laundry options as well as customized organizational packages to meet your family's every laundry need! Sounds amazing, right?
At Lessen the Loads, we understand the weight of daily laundry and the constant battle to maintain an organized home. Ally and MC and their professional team are here to lift the burden, offering comprehensive services that free you from the relentless cycle of laundry and clutter. Our team will collaborate with you to declutter, reorganize and implement systems that maximize functionality and minimize stress.
Lessen the Loads is the brainchild of Ally and MC, who met during their freshman year of high school at St. Pius X in Pottstown, PA. Years later, while Ally attended Gwynedd Mercy University and MC attended Saint Joseph’s University, they decided to embark on a business journey. Little did they both know that these initial efforts would lead them to launch Lessen the Loads.
Like most moms, Ally was drowning and overwhelmed with household tasks after giving birth to her third child. She decided to enlist the help of a local mom’s group to tackle the endless piles of laundry that were accumulating and quickly realized that this type of service is needed in the community to help busy families and individuals in need.
MC is the organizational guru and laundry pro, and Ally is like a lot of our clients needing help - a perfect duo! Lessen the Loads currently serves 175+ families a week, most on a recurring weekly basis. Our passion is in lessening the burden of the most time-consuming household task and the mental load that comes with it. We strive to give people time to focus on the more important things in life, while we handle the laundry!

The women of Lessen the Loads have helped my family so much over the past few months! Mary Catherine, Ally, and the Lessen the Loads team provide something really special with these services. In my house we hired Lessen the Loads for their organization services. We're a home of two adults, three kids, one dog, and a whole lot of stuff. The focus of the first visit was to organize the mudroom, coat closet, linen closet and playroom - accomplished in just four hours! The second visit focused on organizing our out of control basement/playroom, and the third visit was to overhaul a multipurpose room into a functional laundry room and office. We're planning to have them back soon to overhaul our general storage room! Not only were the women of Lessen the Loads efficient in the work they did, they were SO KIND! This is a service run by compassionate moms and it shows in every communication you have with them. Each visit brings zero judgement, kindness, and mom level efficiency. First we chat about what is a must keep, if there's anything that can be thrown away without checking with you, how you use the space, etc. Then they organize all of your stuff! For example, they emptied my coat closet and put all the shoes together, coats, hats, gloves, scarves, reusable bags, etc. Once it was all out and organized we walked through all of it to designate keep/toss/donate. THEN they took all the stuff we purged (that was in usable condition) with them to donate before putting the spaces back together!! I can't even imagine how long this work would have taken me with the kids around. Maybe a week with time to myself and no kids in the house? But who gets that? And that's not how I want to spend my alone time. I also am self aware enough to know that I wouldn't do it. But I know that I'd let the mental load of it hang over my head. Hiring Lessen the Loads was the perfect solution to tackle part of the never ending to do list that we all have as parents.

Absolutely love using them ! I’ve used several other places in the past and none come close to lessen the loads . From the awesome folding , fresh clean scent , and all the laundry sorted by family member it’s such a huge help . With traveling , vacations, kids crazy sports , hectic holidays and just not having time to do laundry for two weekends things really pile up , it’s nice that I can send out out stuff when life gets too crazy and we need a little help .

I love, love, love this company. We used this service for the first time when our washing machine broke and it was taking weeks to replace it through our home warranty. Now we use them a few times a year when things get backed up because life is busy. I love that they pick up, drop off, sort by person and fold like pros. I cannot say enough good things about the ease of the experience and the quality of the work. 24 hours and 175 lbs of laundry back at my doorstep!
